snackpack-illustrationAs a result of the economic turndown, more working parents are finding it difficult provide for their children.  Teachers report that many students go through the weekend with little or no food.  Locally, childhood hunger is on the rise.

The Snackpaks for Kids Program, sponsored by United Way and coordinated by Angel Action and their dedicated volunteers, provides backpacks filled with healthy food items for students.  Every weekend almost 200 children are now food secure because of the generous people in our community who are willing to “share what they can spare”.
