We are seeking motivated individuals with experience in human resources or business office settings who are interested in using their skills in a nonprofit organization that provides services to the community. ACAP is a community-based organization that has been supporting the empowerment and economic upward mobility of vulnerable residents of Albany County for over 55 years.
The HR Program Support Specialist possesses strong customer service skills, performs various business office/ administrative tasks, has excellent organizational and time-management skills, and has an ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. The position's responsibilities include:
Assist with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, scanning, faxing, processing correspondence, data entry, meeting preparation, updating/maintaining databases, and report preparation.
Assist with the agency’s telephone center and address queries accordingly.
Assist the HR leadership team with all recruitment-related activities including job postings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews, reference checks calls, onboarding, and orientation of new hires.
Attends outreach and networking events to promote the agency and attract talent. Participates and provides support in recruitment activities such as career fairs, meetings with external stakeholders, and in-house events.
A minimum of an associate degree in human resources, business administration, or a relevant field is required. At least two (2) years of proven work experience as an HR assistant or Administrative Assistant position is required. Strong organizational, customer service, communication skills, and computer skills (MS Office) are a must. The ability to prioritize tasks, pay keen attention to detail, and a desire to learn are fundamental drivers for this position. Knowledge of labor legislation is highly desirable. Bi- or Multi-lingual skills are a plus.
