Join a community-based organization which has been supporting the empowerment and economic upward mobility of vulnerable residents of Albany County for over 55 years. The Employment Specialist provides job readiness and vocational services to ACAP customers. Responsibilities include:
• Conduct employment assessments and generate employment goal plans with customers and provide post-employment and career counseling to customers who have found employment
• Work with community partners to connect families with local resources and events
• Assist with customer outreach and enrollment in ACAP programs and services
• Collect data and maintain records
Starting at $18.92 per hour; Monday-Friday; 37.5 hours per week
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field required. At least one (1) year of experience in human services or community-based organization OR a Family Development Credential is required. A High School diploma and five (5) years of experience may be used in place of an associate’s degree. Basic PC skills including database entry, word processing, and spreadsheet skills are required. Experience with employment support, case management, and a familiarity with local service providers and employers desired. Bi-or Multi-Lingual is a plus.
